Los Angeles, California  January 18, 2025:  The Torrance Art Museum is honored to present Burner: An Exhibition of International Street Artists in its limited engagement January 18th through March 1st, 2025, at the Torrance Art Museum. Torrance Art Museum.

 

OPENING RECEPTION: Saturday, January 18th, 2025,  6-9 pm  Open to the Public

 

Burner: The Exhibition, now in its fifth year of international exhibition, is presenting at TAM with a unique and groundbreaking curation: this Collection of original works in the Street Art/Urban Graffiti genre houses important original works, many of which have never been shown in the United States prior to this Exhibition.

 

Featuring “Waiting In Vain” a seminal work by Banksy, executed in 2013 in NYC and exhibited in its original form offers a once in a lifetime opportunity for public viewing and one that truly defines the ethos of the genre in its societal messaging.

 

This artwork appeared in New York City, specifically West 51st St. on the exterior wall of former Hustler Club in Hell’s Kitchen, during Banksy’s celebrated 2013 “Better Out Than In” residency.

Works by Icons of the Movement Banksy, The Conner Brothers, Miss Tic, Blek Le Rat, Mr. Brainwash, Bambi, Mr. Doodle, KEF!, Buff Monster, Shepard Fairy, Kaws, Craig Knight, Shane Goudreau, Chroma, Mark Ryden, Magnus Gjoen, Pure Evil, and others have set the gold standard in graffiti and urban artistry. 

 

The Exhibition provides visitors with an unparalleled and innovative experience and stunning visual journey of the most iconic and heralded Art and Artists in the genre.
